The Phonics have expanded their 2010 tour like a fat bloke happily releasing his few belt notches after a big, satisfying meal… actually, it’s nothing like that, because the bloke would have to somehow add London and Glasgow to his belt due to popular demand… unless he’s named the belt holes because so many people asked him to, but that’s getting a bit silly. Right, I’d like to be clear that the Stereophonics extra dates are nothing like a fat bloke in any way. Glad we got that cleared up. Click here for tickets.

They don’t like their name any more apparently. It’s more exciting than ‘The Canals’ which they used to be though, plus they named themselves after a chain of Indian restaurants, so there’s a chance they’ll be getting free curry. They’re not doing too bad out of it, they’ve had to add extra dates to their tour. Click here for tickets.

The hair’s still big, the guitar’s still loud, the screaming fans may have to stop for a coughing fit but there’s another generation there to back them up. Like it or not, Bon Jovi are huge. I might even capitalize that… yep, I will. They’re HUGE. And on tour, of course. Click here for tickets.

Voluntary Butler Scheme is the precious creation of one man, Rob Jones. The Birmingham based solo band-man uses his home studio to create most of this music, making debut album At Breakfast, Dinner, Tea armed with an arsenal of instruments – including a kazoo and a ukulele; a man after any music lover’s heart, I think you’d agree.

Editors are known for an unrelenting tour schedule. In fact, if one of them died during a show, no-one would notice until the end at which point they’d have to be talked down from finishing the tour, on account of being dead. Next March’s tour is no exception, the last date is a hospital. Click here for tickets.

While it sounds like it might be ruled with an iron fist by a tyrannical Dave Matthews (Dave: “I say we do play in chickens suits, what’s the name of this band again?”) the band was actually named by accident and is a musical democracy. Boasting band members with roots in different musical styles, DMB has elements of Blues, Soul, Afrobeat and Jazz. Click here for tickets.

By now we have surely all heard the news? The dust has settled and people can barely conjure up enough enthusiasm to care anymore, but believe me, it is still worth talking about the night Oasis split-up, purely for its hilarity alone. Really it is, when you hear this, I’m sure you’ll agree, its classic Liam.

When you put Wolfmother on, do you get that sensation where a million roaring music demons are coursing out of your belly, getting ready to ROCK, the feeling that your soul has become a vast monolith of purest head-banging fury and your head is spinning like you’ve been flung back in time to the glory days of Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath? The Banshee is an Irish she-spirit that wails on the rooftops of the houses of those about to die. Deloris O’Riorden is the Irish she-singer for an awesome Irish rock band who hadn’t played together in nearly a decade. There is no real connection between the two, which begs the question: why mention it at all? While we’re pondering that, news just in: the Cranberries are performing again for the first time in 7 years! Click here for tickets.

Brilliantly over the top Finnish Goth Rockers (dubbed ‘goth and rollers’ by their fans’) are back. With a name that sounds like the surname of a Lovecraftian beastie (ie: the Faceless Child of Yog-Sothoth with Sixty Nine Eyes), the band have been rocking their vampiric thang mercilessly for over 20 years. Is there no-one who can stop them? Buying tickets will only encourage them, but you can do it by clicking here.

You have to give The XX credit for slight intrigue. Unless someone’s said it to you, you don’t know how to say their name, which could lead to an embarrassing faux par at a cool gathering. Are they ‘the ex ex’, ‘the double ex’, ‘the double kiss’, ‘the kiss kiss’, is it roman numerals, are they ‘The Twenty’? You might never know until they’re actually announced on tour. "Now on stage, It's the Cross Crosses!" Click here for tickets.
